CORRIN MART REPORT
There were plenty of cattle on offer again this week in Corrin mart. The trade was extremely lively throughout with increased numbers of customers around the ring and online, bidding strongly for all lots.
COWS
Very lively trade for dry cows.
Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.35 per kilo to €2.10per kilo.
Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.78 per kilo up to €2.65 per kilo.
Charolais 705kg €1,870; Friesians 600kg €1,270; Friesians 700kg €1,430.
BULLOCKS
Very strong demand for all bullocks this week. Trade improved again on last week.
Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.58 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.30 for Continental bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.23 per kilo up to €2.87 per kilo.
Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.65 for Friesians up to €3.00 per kilo for Continentals. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.28 up to €2.95 per kilo.
Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €2.00 per kilo up to €3.02 per kilo.
Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+. Extraordinary demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.10 up to €3.00 per kilo.
AA 575kgs €1,740; Charolais 249kgs €820; AA 622kgs €1,860; Hereford 290kgs €830.
HEIFERS
Similar trade to last weeks lively trade.
Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.20 up to €2.95 per kilo. AA/ Hereford averaged at €2.35per kilo.
Butchers heifers 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.30 up to €3.00 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.42per kilo.
