Jam-packed weekend

Last weekend saw a jam packed list of fixtures across most age groups, with the U7s and U8s taking what they have been busy learning in training into their first eagerly awaited matches of the season. The U9s, U10s and U11s also were busy fulfilling their Rebel Óg fixtures, well done to all involved. The season is off to a great start for all the teams, with the youngest groups of nursery and U6s following closely on.

NURSERY

The GAA nursery resumes for our youngest group the U5s. It’s great to see this back, and we thank Jane and Dan Dixon, and John Hanrahan for helping this getting up and going and wish it well, all support is welcome. The nursery starts on Monday May 9th, and will be on Monday nights 6.30-7pm, and parental supervisio­n is essential.

U7S

The U7 boys made the trip to Kilshannig last Saturday, April 23rd to take part in their first Rebel Óg football blitz, great displays by all the boys. Well done to all involved. Keep up the great work.

U8S

Sunday Morning, April 24th saw the U8s take to the field for their first match of the season, it was the concluding fixture of a jam-packed fixture of games for the club and they did not disappoint, on a sunny morning they hosted Killavulle­n for games of football and hurling and great displays by all the boys and girls involved.

U9S

Busy week for the U9 boys with two matches completed. Tuesday, April 19th they hosted Kilworth in Ballyhooly for hurling, splitting into three teams on the night to play in three great competitiv­e matches against the visitors with great displays by all players from both sides. Thanks also to Conor Curtin and Senan Ahern as young whistlers.

Saturday, April 23rd saw the boys make the trip to Minane Bridge to play Tracton GAA in their Rebel Óg hurling fixture. Once again strong numbers with 20 players making the journey, fielding three teams against our hosts, for a fine morning hurling, making the trip worthwhile and thanks to all the parents and supporters on the day.

U10S

Saturday, April 24th the U10s welcomed Grenagh to Ballyhooly.

The ideal weather and pitch conditions lead to a super and fast flowing game of hurling with hooking, blocking, points and goals all on display. Well done everyone.

U11S

The U11s travelled to Shanballym­ore on Saturday, April 24th for their Rebel Óg hurling fixture. Great teamwork with demonstrat­ions of the skills of the game on show, well done lads, keep up the good work.

U12S

On Tuesday, April 19th the U12 footballer­s played a fantastic competitiv­e game of football against Killavulle­n. They scored some excellent goals and points, and showed some determined defending and great teamwork. Well done lads.

MEMBERSHIP

CÚL CAMP 2022 REMINDER

Cúl Camp returns once more, running from Mon, July 4th to Friday, July 8th. Booking online is open on kelloggscu­lcamps.gaa. ie. It’s always a keenly anticipate­d event on the calendar and updates, plans will be shared in the coming weeks.
