The Avondhu

Golf galore – and an ace or two thrown in!

-

The past week has seen super golfing conditions in Mitchelstown on a super golf course. The favourable weather conditions have seen even further improvements in the fairways and greens. Breezy weather added further interest to the golfer’s round over the weekend and helped a lot in drying up the course.

The weekend 18 hole Open saw a good turnout with some good scores returned and a hole-in-one struck from the third tee on Saturday morning by Stephen Murphy. We also learned of another hole-inone struck from the fourteenth tee during our recent Spring League by Sean Buckley. Congrats to both Stephen and Sean on your achievements.

Presentation of prizes took place on Sunday, 24th April in the clubhouse. Congratulations to all prize recipients but especially to the winners of the Spring League: Jim Moran, Adrian Mulley, Paddy O’Callaghan, Leo Walsh, and Paul Craig. Special congratulations also to the best individual scorer of the league – John Martin.
