CAHIR PARK GOLF CLUB 2022 FIXTURES BOOKLET

The booklet was launched over Easter and is very kindly sponsored by Eugene Quirke, Quirke uPVC Limited. A must have for all golfers, this is a great diary of all competitio­ns throughout the year. It is available free of charge in the pro shop and bar/ restaurant area. Many thanks to Julie Connolly for her expertise in producing the booklet and to Eugene for his support.

EASTER MONDAY THREEBALL CHAMPAGNE SCRAMBLE

April showers on Easter Sunday made way for sunshine and fun on Monday with many teams participat­ing in the scramble.

Congratula­tions to the overall winners, Jason McNamara, Tommy Dunphy and Barry Hennessy all playing off H/C 13 and returning 96pts. Second place went to Paul Adamson (H/C 15), Emmet Leahy (H/C 0) and Carthach Leahy (H/C 7) with 95pts. The best mixed ream of Declan Walsh (H/C 7) Joanne Quaid (H/C 18) and Michelle Keating (H/C 15) returned 93pts. Best All Ladies Team: Pauline Mulcahy (H/C 31), Kathleen Lonergan (H/C 20) and Miriam Hally (H/C 18) 89pts.

LADIES

Thursday 28th April, Ladies Open threeball champagne scramble kindly sponsored by Murphy Candles.

The first of the ladies open days, tee times can be booked via BRS or through pro shop 0527441474. Beautiful prizes to be won and everyone in Cahir Park is looking forward to welcoming ladies from local and not so local clubs. Excellent catering facilities available.

MARY MCKENNA DIAMOND TROPHY

Congratula­tions to the ladies of the Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy team who won the return match against Roscrea GC on Friday. The matches in both rounds of the first leg of competitio­n were very close and hard fought and provided good viewing for supporters from both clubs. Best wishes to everyone for round 2.

Tuesday seniors played on 19th April in a 12 hole champagne scramble and followed up with birthday celebratio­ns for Helen and Easter eggs from Hilary. Winning team: Imelda Fitzpatric­k, Anne Walsh and Anne Fahy 65pts. Second place: Ann McLoughlin, Josie Walsh and Fiona Rea 62pts. Many thanks as always to Margaret for organizing the draw, changing playing partners regularly and providing lovely prizes.

Great support for this competitio­n played in glorious sunshine and fabulous course conditions. A point separated the first three home with first and second decided on countback.
