Lismore ‘Candles of Hope’ for Darkness into Light

-

Following very positive feedback last year and with so many expressing the comforting effect it had on them, we have decided to once again light up The Millennium Park and the monument in Lismore with hundreds of candles both in memory of family members and as a vigil for the people of Ukraine.

This will take place from 9pm this Friday, 6th May until dawn on Saturday, 7th May. The Darkness into Light walk will commence at 4.30 from The Millennium Park with a set route this year around Owbeg and back via Mayfield and Main Street to The Park. You can donate via a fundraiser on Laura ní Bhuachalla’s Facebook page or via the donation box on the night in the Millennium Park. Again, it will be an opportunity for individuals and families to visit the park and honour their loved ones in a special way.

Come along and support and light a candle of hope. Bring your own candles or get one on entry to the park on Friday night. We would like to thank Eoin Donoghue and family Beecher’s Centra for donating 700 nightlights for the occasion. Join us for the walk and help provide counselling and support for individuals and families affected by suicide.

If you would like to help, we will gather in the park at 5pm to set up or you can help to steward during the walk if you are free at 4am on Saturday morning, all welcome. We look forward to seeing you all there.
