Fermoy Famine and Military Graveyard ‘looking well’

- KATIE GLAVIN

Thanks were extended to Avondhu Blackwater Partnership this week, as former councillor and town mayor, John Murphy, commended their work in the Fermoy Famine and Military Graveyard.

Works carried out onsite by the local organisation include the maintenance of grass and footpaths, keeping up the site’s appearance.

“It’s looking very well. They’ve done fantastic work and I want to thank Valerie Murphy and all of Avondhu Blackwater Partnership. It’s very important to respect the dead. They have promised to give the grass there at least two cuts a year,” Mr Murphy said.
