Another large sale of cattle on offer at Corrin mart this week. Prices for all types and weights continue to rise with an extraordin­ary lively trade for all cattle this week.

COWS

Huge numbers of dry cows met a very strong improved trade for all.

Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.40 per kilo to €2.20per kilo.

Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.80 per kilo up to €2.55per kilo.

AA 675kg €1,690; Limousin 820kg €2,040; Friesians 600kg €1,290.

BULLOCKS

Improved trade again this week, extraordin­ary prices for heavy cattle.

Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.60 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €2.90 for Continenta­l bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.25per kilo up to €2.75 per kilo.

Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs - up to €3.21 per kilo for Continenta­ls. AA/ Hereford bullocks made from €2.30 up to €3.20per kilo.

Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €2.00 per kilo up to €3.12 per kilo.

Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+: extraordin­ary demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.15 up to €3.17per kilo.

AA 612kgs €1,940; Charolais 486kgs €1,450; AA 492kgs €1,580; Hereford 250kgs €690.

HEIFERS

Super trade for heifers again this week.

Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.25 up to €2.93 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.36per kilo.

Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.35 up to €3.12 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.45per kilo.

Limousin 500kgs €1,560; Charolais 610kgs €1,850; Hereford 338kgs €840; AA 200kgs €530.
