Team D winners
On Sunday morning the curtain came down on a very successful Corbett Court sponsored Club League. The club is extremely grateful to Declan Corbett for his continued and much valued sponsorship of one of the main competitions in our club. We ask our members to support Declan’s business at every opportunity.
A beautiful morning for pitch and putt and the course in great condition, four teams took to the tee boxes, it was a close finish. Team D, Noreen Ryan, Patsy O’Mahony, Jerry Greehy, Tom Kenneally, Seamus O’Connell were winners on a score of 146. Team H, Kay Riley, Jerry Burke, John McCarthy, Maria Roche, Sheila Hegarty, Ella Lovett were 2nd on 150. Team G, Barry Doyle, Michael O’Keeffe, Michael McGrath, Noel Scannell, Seamus Fox were 3rd on 151.
At presentation of prizes Chairman Tom Shanahan thanked all for making the competition a success, he thanked the ladies for the refreshments which were greatly appreciated by all. Tom welcomed and thanked Declan for his kind sponsorship. Declan in reply said he was delighted to come on board to sponsor the competition as he has done for a good many years.
We had a threeball competition for those not playing in the League. Stephanie Dunne, Catherine Morrissey, Frank Roche were winners on a score of 86 1/3 nett. Paddy Houlihan, Michael O’Meara and guost were gross winners on a score of 110. Tuesday’s threeball winners were Derry Walsh, Sheila Hegarty, Stephanie Dunne on a score of 82 1/3. John C McCarthy, John Walsh, Ella Lovett were gross winners on a score of 112. Pat Houlihan had a hole in one at no 8. Thursday’s fourball winners were Jerry Burke and Seán Hegarty on a score of 40 nett. Derry Walsh and Frank Roche were gross winners on a score of 51.
Tuesday and Thursday evenings competition will now tee off at the later time of 6.45pm. Usual Sunday competition tee off 10.30am.
