Disappointing defeat for junior hurlers

-

Kilworth 0-11 Doneraile 1-9

Doneraile with a late goal and a point came from behind to snatch victory in the Cavanagh’s of Fermoy Division 2 Hurling League game played in Kilworth last Tuesday night. Kilworth led 0-8 to 0-3 at half-time and in truth should have been out of sight with the amount of scoring chances created, especially in the opening quarter. However, these were not converted and a return of only 3 points in the second half kept Doneraile in the game and they finished in the ascendency.

Team and scorers: Killian Heggtveit, Conor Hynes, John Horgan, Tim Collins, James McCarthy (Elm Place) Shane O’Brien, Mike O’Callaghan, Sean Beecher, Mike Gowen, Ryan Jordan 0-1, Brian Tobin, Brian Casey 0-1, Darragh Gill 0-6 (0-2 fs), Leo Coffey 0-2, Jason McCarthy 0-1. Subs used; Evin Donnellan, Cathal Donnellan, Ryan McCarthy, Joe

Aherne and Odhran Collins O’Mahony.
