Last week Sunday, 24th April and Wednesday, 27th April our ladies 18 hole stableford competitio­n was kindly sponsored by Michael O’Leary Estate Agents Lismore. 1st T McGrath (46) 42 points, 2nd M Ahern (33) 36 points. Fantastic scores again.

We held our Mini Club Classic over the bank holiday weekend, it was great to see so many teams play and support the classic. As always thank you for your continued support. We had fantastic weather and the course is in beautiful condition. Results are as follows:

Men’s teams: 1st: Martin O’Driscoll, Kevin Foley, Pat Moore 79 points, 2nd: Denis McCarthy, Patsy Heaphy, Nicholas Walsh 77 points. Women’s teams: 1st: Angela O’Hara, Marita Kelly, Megan Glavin 75 points. Mixed teams: 1st: Michael McGrath, Ciaran Cullinane, Teresa McGrath 75 points, 2nd: Daphne Power, Martin Rafferty, Esther Hornibrook 74 points B9, Longest Drive Men: Eoghan Murray, Longest Drive Women: Fiona Howard, Closest to the Pin Men: Pat Curley, Closest to the Pin Women: Amanda Power. Well done to all.

FIXTURES

Wednesday, 4th May we will be running a 12 hole stroke competitio­n, make sure to get out and play and get some practice in for the weekend for the Annual Col. O’Brien Cup.

Sunday, 8th May sees the return of the very prestigiou­s Col. O’Brien Cup kindly presented by Mrs Katherine Moynihan. The timesheet is posted on the ladies notice board, please fill in your name on your desired slot. This will be the first competitio­n to contribute to the Golfer of the Year award so make sure to get out and play this Sunday.

Catering will be available on the day. We would like to wish Katherine and her family the very best of luck on the 51st year of presenting the Col. O’Brien Cup.

We will be running a continuous 9 hole stroke competitio­n for the first two weeks of May followed by a continuous 9 hole stableford for the following two weeks, entry / re-entry.

FOURSOMES CLUB CHAMPIONSH­IP MATCHPLAY

Round 1 is now well underway and well done to all who have matches completed. Don’t forget round 1 is to be played by this Saturday, 7th May with Round 2 commencing on Sunday 8th.

MIXED CLUB CHAMPIONSH­IP MATCHPLAY

The draw for the mixed club championsh­ip has now been made and is posted in the clubhouse and on Master Scoreboard, please contact opposing team and make arrangemen­ts for round 1 which is to be completed by 29th May.

This Friday 6th May sees the return of our Friday evening mixed which will commence at 6pm also Senior Golf continues

every Thursday at 10am.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions go to Martin Rafferty our talented greensman who recently received his Level 6 Advanced Certificat­e in Golf and Turf Management. Well done Martin. The course is in fantastic condition under his watchful eye.

RULES NIGHT

Thank you to all who attended our very successful rules night, presented by Golf Ireland Representa­tives. It was great to see so many ladies and gents attend on the night and we all came away having learned a thing or two.

CLUB MERCHANDIS­E

Our new club merchandis­e is now on sale in the clubhouse bar. Sample sizes of the new club jumper and t-shirt are now available in the clubhouse bar for pre-order so make sure and try on a sample and get your order in.

NEW MEMBERS

Ladies, if you had ever thought of taking up golf, now is the time to do it, our lady captain Patricia O’Neill and any committee member would be delighted to take out potential members and showcase our beautiful course.
