Great performances all round
U10
Our U9 and U10 squads had their second game of the season when we hosted Ballycastle last Thursday night. On the night we had some great individual performances and had some great passages of play against strong Ballycastle teams. There was some great catching, kicking and teamwork on display. Well done girls. Upcoming games v Midleton and Erins Own.
U12
Training every Thursday evening 7pm in St. Colmans. New players always welcome.
MINOR
Minor training is on Tuesday nights from 7 to 8pm at the back of the main pitch.
Recently we played a match against neighbours Kilworth. Great football was played by both teams in a very entertaining game.
Well done to Dearbhla Creed, goalie on the Cork minor team, which won the Munster final against Tipperary on Sunday last. Congratulations Dearbhla.
SENIOR Araglen Desmonds 0-18 Fermoy 3-13
Fermoy’s second league game was played in Ballydesmond in excellent conditions on a very good pitch. This was a free flowing game with play up and down the pitch and some very good scores taken by both sides.
Half time score: Araglen Desmonds 0-11 Fermoy 2-07.
First half scorers were Saoirse Moore (1-3), Michelle Parker (1-0), Caitlin Duffy (0-2), Abbie Scannell (0-1), Aisling Daly (0-1).
The second half saw another evenly contested game with play again switching from end to end with Fermoy just edging it. Both teams showed great commitment and fitness. The game was exciting to the end and compliments to both teams on an excellent game.
Second half scorers were Saoirse Moore (1-4), Aoife O’Sullivan (0-1) and Sinead O’Sullivan (0-1).
Fermoy had many great performances including Ruby Coffee, Eve Buckley and Sarah Gilsenan in the full-back line, Sinead O’Sullivan was outstanding in the half-back line. Teresa Murphy covered huge ground from midfield and once again Saoirse Moore was our top scorer. It was great to see all our forwards on the scoreboard.
