SCHOOLBOY LEAGUE RESULTS U12 CUP Cappoquin/Railway 0 Ardmore 1

This was a really tight affair at the Cappoquin venue with the visitors starting well. Ardmore took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from John O’Brien. Stephen Lacey saw Dathai Power save a shot as Cappoquin pushed for an equaliser but the Ardmore keeper saved well. In the second half Ardmore rode their luck on more than one occasion, but good defending, allied to a few missed chances saw Ardmore hold out and progress to a semi-final meeting with Mogeely.

THURSDAY 28TH U12 LEAGUE DIV 2 Ardmore 1 Clashmore Ramblers 0

This turned out to be a terrific contest as Clashmore set up with four at the back and three in midfield. Ardmore were playing the better football but the Clashmore defence and keeper were doing well and it was scoreless at half-time. A few positional switches by Ardmore gave them a bit more width with the home side taking the lead mid-way through the half, with Tom Howard getting in a good pass before being fouled. The referee allowed a good advantage with Logan Griffin pulling the ball back for Seamus Twomey who finished to the net. Ardmore continued to press and came close on a few other occasions, but in the end the one goal proved enough to give Ardmore the U12 division 2 title, with Clashmore Ramblers pushing them all the way.

FRIDAY 29TH U15 LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION Mogeely 3 Inch United 0

Mogeely came out on top in this league encounter. They scored twice from the penalty spot in the opening half while they added a third in the second half to seal the win.

SAT 30TH U13 LEAGUE PREMIER Brideview United 0 Kilworth Celtic 3

Kilworth Celtic were crowned U13 premier division champions as Brideview United were unable to close the gap to force a play-off. Well done to Kilworth Celtic who have gone unbeaten this season and who will be looking to make it a cup and league double in the next week or so.

U12 DIVISION 2 Clashmore Ramblers 3 Ballybridge United 1

Clashmore Ramblers got the better of Ballybridge United in another tight contest with an Eoin O’Driscoll goal leaving the home side 1-0 in front at the interval. In the second half Ballybridge United pushed hard but it was the home side that scored again with Jack Kenneally on target. Ballybridge did pull a goal back but a third goal from Kenneally gave Clashmore Ramblers the win which now leaves them in with a shot of winning this league.

Castlebridge Celtic 2 Ardmore 3

Another cracking contest at Celtic Park where the home side took the lead in the 10th minute. Ardmore drew level ten minutes later with Seamus Twomey shooting low to the net. The visitors then went in front as Twomey pounced on a defensive error to round the keeper and put Ardmore 2-1 in front at the interval. Castlebridge Celtic pushed hard for an equaliser and their effort was rewarded with a headed goal ten minutes after the restart.

It was certainly game on now and in truth it could have gone either way. Ardmore had a big panel and the reintroduction of Seamus Twomey proved to be the key as once again he outpaced the home defence to complete a hat-trick and give Ardmore the three points.

Ardmore now have one game to play against Clashmore Ramblers and if they can avoid defeat they can win this league.
