Mogeely win local derby and championship

PRIM-ED U15 DIVISION ONE LEAGUE Mogeely 3 Inch Utd 0

A terrific game of football here between these two local neighbours in East Cork. The winners here were going to be crowned champions of division one and a big crowd of supporters from both clubs attended the Mogeely venue on a lovely summer evening.

The game got off to a flying start after just two minutes when the home side were awarded a penalty. Up stepped Alex McSweeney and put Mogeely in front. Both sides had chances after this opening goal.

With the game going into the final minutes of this first half Mogeely were awarded another penalty and again McSweeney put it away to leave Mogeely 2-0 up at the break.

Both keepers saved well in the second half and with just ten minutes remaining Finn added a third for Mogeely to clinch the points and the championship.

PRESENTATION

Liam Fraser, treasurer of the WW/EC presented the shield and medals to captain of Mogeely, Evan Connolly, much to the delight of players, managers and supporters alike. This game wrapped up the U15 league. Ref: G Dobbs.
