Car enters M8 in wrong direction

Gardaí in Tipperary have issued a warning to motorists after a car entered the motorway in the wrong direction on Monday evening. The driver stated that they were confused while using their Sat Nav.

When the car entered the motorway, the first vehicle they met was that of Cahir Gardaí.

The force urged motorists to be ‘situationally aware’ of junctions and road layouts while driving, while acknowledging that Sat Navs are a useful guidance tool.
