- KATIE GLAVIN

A planning extension has been sought from Waterford City and County Council regarding the construction of five two-storey dwelling units in Lismore.

Cooney Engineering and Contracting Ltd, the applicant, is seeking to extend the planning in relation to the development at The Mills, Ballysaggart Beg, Lismore. The application relates to permission previously granted in 2017 when it was sought to construct five two-storey dwelling units along with the completion of the associated access road and footpath. The residential dwellings would comprise of two semi-detached and three duplex units.

Initially, planning on this site was sought and granted by Waterford City and County Council in 2005 when the applicant, O’Brien Young Partnership, looked to construct 61 dwellings at Ballysaggart Beg, Lismore. In this instance, the go-ahead was given for 13 detached dwellings, 40 semi-detached dwellings, 6 duplex apartments and two apartments, along with a crèche facility and office accommodation.
