Boil water notice remains in place for Killavullen residents
A boil water notice remains in place for those supplied by the Killavullen Public Water Supply.
The notice was initially issued on Monday, May 2, when the Killavullen Water Treatment Plant shut down due to high levels of turbidity in the borehole supply. Currently, the notice affects approximately 810 people.
Earlier this week, water supply issues were seen in several areas locally, including in Mitchelstown where those on the Ballygiblin road saw supplies affected by a burst water main on Monday.
Tuesday saw residents of Kilconnor, Doneraile affected by a burst main while in Cappoquin, those in the Shanbally area were affected by the same issue the following day. Both Doneraile and Cappoquin water supplies were fully restored the morning after, with repair works carried out in both areas.
POWER OUTAGE
A power outage was experienced in Fermoy this week, as the north side of the town was without power for a time due to a break in a line near the Dublin Road. Power was restored to the area shortly after, as ESB crews were on site on Monday working to resolve the issue.
