Mitchelstown Kindness Initiative
Mitchelstown’s Kindness Initiative is a new venture undertaken by locals Carmel O’Gorman and Sarah O’Donnell, assisted by Bridie Slattery.
The group is coming together to help local people ‘in any way we can’. They will be running a relaxation hour in Forrest Hall on Wednesday nights at 7.30pm, giving people the opportunity to sit and chat over a cup of tea, and partake in some creative artwork for men and women. They also plan to get facilitators in over time for talks on wellbeing.
On Wednesday last week five people came together to socialise and take part in some creative mindfulness colouring.
The group are also offering to call and assist senior members of the community, and endeavour to give one person a month a small hamper of non-perishable food and toiletries, based on donations. The Mitchelstown Kindness Initiative can be contacted via their social media or by calling 085 7778375.
