CORRIN MART REPORT
The lively trade that we have enjoyed over the last few weeks here at Corrin mart continued this week. Right across the board the trade for all cattle improved again with an increase in demand and prices for all weights and breeds.
Taking into consideration the favourable weather, abundance of grass and factory price this demand looks likely to continue. We would encourage anyone that has cattle to sell, especially heavy cattle to consider bringing them to Corrin mart to satisfy the demand from all around the country that we have at the moment.
COWS
Large numbers of dry cows met a very lively trade again this week.
Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.42 per kilo to €2.20per kilo.
Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.85 per kilo up to €2.63per kilo.
Au 670kg €1,710; Limousin 650kg €1,720; Friesians 600kg €1,430.
BULLOCKS
As mentioned already a really super trade again this week.
Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.75 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.10 for Continental bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.40 per kilo up to €3.06 per kilo.
Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.70 for Friesians up to €3.20 per kilo for Continentals. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.50 up to €3.10 per kilo.
Fwd. stores: 500 to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €2.00 per kilo up to €3.15 per kilo.
Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+: extraordinary demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.15 up to €3.17 per kilo.
AA 620kgs €1,960; Hereford 606kgs €1,890; AA 483kgs €1,480; AA 274kgs €840.
HEIFERS
Very strong trade for heifers again this week.
Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.20 up to €2.90 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.35per kilo.
Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.38 up to €3.25 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.50per kilo.
