1ST & 2ND CLASS - ‘SAVE THE BEES’
1st and 2nd class have been ‘busy bees’ researching and learning about the importance of bees and how we can protect them. As part of the ‘Save The Bees’ initiative, we have been making our school more environmentally and bee-friendly.
The pupils have worked together to plant flowers in our school garden and have taken on the responsibility of watering and caring for these plants. Some 1st and 2nd class pupils have constructed bee hotels which now feature in our school garden, providing a safe habitat for bees.
These young pupils have formed an ‘Environmentally Friendly Club’ and regularly attend meetings with Mr Fitzgerald to share their ideas on future developments of the school grounds. We love to encourage _________!
Using their knowledge about bees, 1st and 2nd class pupils each wrote an information text to inform people about the types of bees in our world, the importance of bees and how we can protect these insects. These impressive pieces of writing have been displayed in our school along with some of the beautiful artwork also created by the class.
