Cork Camogie ladies provincial champions

-

Cork 2-16 Clare 0-06

The result was never in doubt and although Clare battled bravely, there was no denying Cork Minor ladies a Munster title in Cahir GAA grounds on Saturday afternoon.

With Ciara Morrison and Orlaith Mullins the main scorers, it took the ladies little time to settle, with Morrison pointing from play a shortly after the sliothar having been thrown in.

Clare’s opening score came courtesy of a free after 10 minutes and their 5 points during the first half were never going to be enough to stay with a determined and talented Cork group, who were well on their way to victory at half-time, on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-5, Ciara Morrison scoring the goal just before the interval. Leah Hallihan and Millie Condon also raised white flags for the Rebelettes in the opening half.

And so the pattern continued in the second half, as this impressive Cork outfit showed little mercy and when Morrison registered Cork’s second goal, Clare had yet to record their first score of the second half (2-13 to 0-5).

On a day that was ideal for play, Cork ran out convincing winners 2-16 to 0-6 on Saturday afternoon, in a tie refereed by Tipperary’s TP Sullivan.
