Carmel’s delight

WEEKLY LOTTO

Barely 6 weeks after Michelle Sweeney won our last jackpot, we had another lucky winner on Monday night last when Carmel Aherne (Beechwood Grove) matched all 4 numbers drawn (3, 11, 19, 25) in last Monday night’s draw and won for herself the tidy figure of (€1,900). We congratulate Carmel on her win. She now joins the long list of lotto supporters who have won our jackpot.

Remember if you’re not in you can’t win, and if you are in you could win. Next week’s jackpot now reverts back to €1,000 for the jackpot. We ask for your continued support as we embark on one of the biggest developments ever undertaken by the club, which will see us build a full size fully floodlit 4g all-weather pitch and walkway costing in excess of €650k.

Our lotto is our main source of fundraising and will help us repay the large borrowings this project has brought on us. Tickets are available from usual outlets or from our door to door seller John Ryan.

PARK JUNIORS - POINTS SHARED College Corinthians 2 Park Utd 2

On Sunday morn last in Douglas,

Park Juniors played their 2nd last game of the season and after defeating Kilreen the week before, they almost grabbed another 3pts. With relegation confirmed, Park’s ambition was to move off the foot of the table and had they held on, this would have been the case. They have one more opportunity to do that now this Sunday with their final league game away to Avondale.

Park were slow to settle into this game and went behind on 10mins when a Corinthians free was floated into the box where their number 9 prodded home.

Going behind sparked Park into life and on 25mins Tommy Dalton received possession in the box, he turned the defender and scored from a tight angle to level proceedings. 10mins later Park’s possession paid off, Dalton was instrumental in setting up Liam McMillan with a perfect cross, McMillan took a touch, rounded the defender and finished low into the bottom left hand corner. 2–1 to Park at the break.

The 2nd half saw Park up the ante, but they were guilty of missed opportunities from Mark Bane and Leon Murphy. This came back to haunt Park and Corinthians equalised with 15mins left. Both teams pushed hard for an equaliser but it wasn’t to be and the points had to be shared.

Team: O’Brien, A O’Shea, O’Connor, O’Connell, J O’Shea, Bane, Pigott, Morrissey, McMillan, Murphy, Dalton and Finn.

END OF AN ERA

The last ever game to be played on our main pitch takes place this Thursday night at 6.45pm when Paul Seymore’s U16 div 1 side finish their season with a home tie v Springfield Ramblers. Whilst most members will be sad to see this fabulous playing surface dug up in the next few weeks, the prospect of having a full size all weather fully floodlit will no doubt be of better benefit to all involved at Park Utd AFC.

SYMPATHIES
