County Football Championsh­ip on Saturday, May 14th at 4pm in Clondrohid when we take on Glengarrif­f. All support welcomed.

CAVANAGH’S OF FERMOY DIVISION 2 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

We had a busy week on the football front with games against both Abbey Rovers/Castletown­roche and Grange. On home ground Tuesday 3rd, we played Abbey Rovers. The opening of the game saw a strong display from our opponents but we soon came into the game and favourably went into half time on a 2-3 to 0-3 scoreline.

We settled well and hit our stride in the second half of the game, with solid displays across the field. At full-time the scoreline stood at 2-11 to 1-8.

Our young guns are integratin­g well into the team and are being well supported by the experience across the team.

Team and scorers as follows: Paudie Morrissey, Billy O’Grady, Barry Sheedy, Richard Hallinan, Leon Fitzharris, Eoin McHugh (0-1), Darragh Palmer (0-1), Brian O’Reilly, Shane Looney (0-2), Jamie Sheedy (0-1), Alan Sheedy (0-1), Noah Butler (1-0), Jordan O’Grady (0-1), Eoin O’Regan (1-4), Winston Barry. Subs used: Steven Donegan (0-1), Paul Burke and Conor McDonnell.

Friday night, May 7th saw us play visitors Grange in the Division 2 Football League.

Our boys were on top form on the night across the pitch and saw us finish on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-3. Management were happy with the solid performanc­e show, with every game played showing improvemen­ts.

WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO

There was no winner of our club lotto this week, but well done to our lucky dip winners: Jim Quirke, Donal Corkery and Tina Sheedy. Next week’s jackpot is a whopping €5,600 – tickets available from any club committee member. Thanks to everyone for their ongoing support every week.

WELL DONE

Congratula­tions to all involved in organising the Darkness into Light walk on Saturday morning. It was well attended with refreshmen­ts served in the community centre afterwards. All for a really great cause.
