Cork still struggle

-

After what were it must be said impressive victories over both Kerry and Limerick, unfortunately the Rebels are out. Taking example from their senior counterparts just two days previously and this time success for the Banner ensures for them a place now against Tipperary, conquerors of Waterford on the other side in the upcoming Munster minor U17 hurling championship final. With the history of Saint Flannans in Ennis and the emergence of Saint Joseph’s, Tulla this is a further boost for Claire hurling. Sure, the more involved the better!

It was the second successive year for St Catherines to have two players involved at minor county level. It also provides a boost to Sean O’Donoghue’s and Oisin Fitzgerald’s trainers and coaches both at club and second level. Take a bow.

In fairness Cork were competitive up to 50 minutes and beyond of the provincial senior football semi-final at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday evening last. Kerry will now play Limerick or Tipperary in the Munster final. Fixed for the afternoon of Saturday, May 28th. All provincial senior football finals will be played that weekend. Qualifiers will be on Sunday, June 3rd and again, should you get that far, Sunday 12th. For Cork it could be Mayo/ Armagh or even Tyrone. They will know soon enough. While Cork has reached the last chance saloon and still might not get in. In fairness all involved would settle for a decent performance when playing league final conquerors Waterford at Walsh Park on Sunday. Throw in is 2pm. It is live on RTE with Claire/ Limerick to follow at 4pm.
