The Avondhu

Chairperson elected

-

Following our recent SGM, the club would like to extend its thanks to Pa Leahy who has agreed to step in as chairman for the rest of the year.

With plenty of work to be done, no doubt Pa will be reaching out to many people for their help. At the last monthly meeting, a new club committee was elected and/or re-appointed where necessary.

They will now work to find new people to lead the various sub committees that need to be re-established to help with the running of the club.

UPCOMING MATCHES

After receiving walkovers last weekend in both Div. 1 and 3 hurling, our hurlers are eagerly awaiting on a return to action on Wednesday 11th away to Glanworth with a 7.30pm start. We are also scheduled to play Div. 1 hurling on Wednesday 18th, this time at home to Dromina.

At this stage of the year, we hope that the with the large number of injuries declining (hopefully), that the team management and players can put together a good training program that will get us ready for championship in July.

LOTTO

Our lotto jackpot is now worth €4,800, the next draw will take place in Grindel’s on 16th May. We would continue to encourage as many as possible to use the online facility at Clubforce, or alternatively, tickets can be purchased in the shop, the Roundy House, Grindel’s, or your usual seller.

Thank you most sincerely to all the lotto players, ticket sellers, etc your support is greatly appreciated in these difficult times.

Remember that any profits made on sale of lotto tickets goes towards the upkeep of the facilities. As you can all see works are ongoing at improving the community sports field.

MAIN CLUB SPONSORS

We have joint sponsors, Ballyhooly Homes and Quintas, please support if you can. In these difficult times it is great to have this support from our sponsors.
