Cycling action in Knocknagree

-

This Sunday will see the cycling action in Munster in Knocknagree where the Sliabh Luachra Club will promote a full programme of racing for all grades and the Fermoy cyclists will be hoping to do well.

Last Sunday was a quiet one on the racing front for most of the Fermoy cyclists, after the hectic racing programme of recent weekends and most took the opportunity to do some training spins, away from the hectic activity of actual racing.

This Sunday will see big fields of cyclists in all grades and tough competition can be expected. Next week will see the start of the Munster Youth League, organised by the Munster Youth Academy, with the first races being organised by Dungarvan Cycling Club on Tuesday, 17th May, starting at 7pm. This league was very successful last season, providing a busy programme of racing for the young cyclists.

While most Fermoy cyclists were not racing last Sunday, one young cyclist travelled to Limerick for the Greenmount Cycling Academy races. In his first road race of the season, Max McGrath took an excellent fifth place in the U10 race and will be looking forward to many more successful outings in 2022.
