On Sunday morning we had a threeball competitio­n with two scores to count, it was kindly sponsored by Killally Stables for which we are very grateful. A nice morning greeted a great turnout of players on the tee boxes. Christy Murphy, Michael O’Meara, Catherine Morrissey were 1st nett winners on a score of 84 2/3. John McCarthy, Frank Roche plus guest were 1st gross winners on a score of 110. Tom Kennedy, Catherine Doyle, Nan Downey were 2nd nett winners on a score of 852/3.

On Tuesday evening we had a scotch fourball competitio­n, the winners were Seamus O’Connell and Michael O’Meara on a score of 40 1/2 nett. Derry Walsh and Sheila Hegarty were gross winners on a score of 55. Thursday evenings fourball winners were John C McCarthy and Mary Quane on a score of 41 nett. Patsy O’Mahony and Kay Riley were gross winners on a score of 53 (on the back 9).

The Leonard family and the club have decided to hold a weekend competitio­n in honour of the late Paddy. Paddy was a very popular playing member and served as gents’ captain, a roll he held with great honour. It will be a weekend competitio­n on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday, 12th June. Another date to mark on the calendar is lady captain Catherine Morrissey’s weekend on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday, 10th July.

Tuesday and Thursday evening competitio­ns continue to tee off at 6.45pm. Sunday morning competitio­n is sponsored by Amber Oil, tee off 10.30am.
