COACHING QUESTION
How do you stop your child switching their hands when catching the ball in hurling? What’s worked for us. Children when starting hurling will want to use their dominant hand for everything. Catching, handpassing and holding the hurley.
To get them using their non dominant hand for catching and handpassing make sure when practicing these skills, the key is they keep the hurl in their dominant hand, while this forces them to use their non dominant hand to catch and handpass. Usually doing this off a wall gives them the confidence. Hope this helps.
