U14 PRE KENNEDY CUP DAY IN CLARE

The WWEC had two games in Clare lost Saturday losing 3-0 to Limerick Desmond and 2-0 to West Cork. All the lads got to play so it is a good learning experience for them.

GIRLS’ DEVELOPMENT SQUADS

A number of U12 girls from WWEC clubs attended the new development West Waterford squad coaching in Dungarvan United FC grounds last Friday night. This will go on for eight sessions so the girls should really benefit from the coaching. The best of luck to all of the girls that are attending.

COE WATERFORD

Two of our U13 girls who have been playing very well in the boys league have been invited to the Centre of Excellence in the WIT Centre in Carriganore for the next two Wednesday nights. They are Rebecca Hurley and Orla McCarthy from Ballybridge United and we hope that both girls do well over the next two weeks.

Phone in number 083-0890833. All managers are asked to have the results phone number so that they can text in half-time and full-time scores along with their teams’ scorers and a brief report if they wish. Both sides must phone in with the information, but it is the home side who is responsible for the result. Again, please text information to this phone number 083-0890833.

U11, U10, U9, U8 and Academy fixtures are up on league web-site and clubs can arrange times that suit for these games between team managers. Please ensure fair play and even game time for all the boys and girls taking part. It is about learning, having fun and enjoyment with your friends.

The Leagues and Cups are now almost all finished with the fixtures committee working hard to have it all done and dusted by the end of May. This is easier said than done however but if all the clubs help out then we should have all competitions successfully completed on time. As usual this time of year is very busy with school competition as well as GAA. If you throw in Communion/Confirmation, shift work along with Covid, then you can see how difficult it is for the fixtures secretary to get free dates to suit everyone. So far so good but clubs must play ball too.
