BALLYLANDERS GAA CLUB NOTES - SHAVE FOR DAVE

The countdown is on around the villages of Ballylanders and Garryspillane, as a lot of bearded men have less than two weeks to go before they will be clean shaved again. Saturday, May 28, promises to be a fantastic night’s entertainment in our clubhouse with the legend podcast trio of Anthony Daly, TJ Ryan and Mark Landers will be there discussing all things hurling. Also, including the discussion on the build-up to this year’s Munster Final between Limerick and Clare.

Tómas O’Sé will be there to discuss the Football Final which will be played earlier that day in Killarney between Limerick and Kerry. Entry to this event is free with full bar facilities available. The response to the raffle tickets has been fantastic, so far and with tickets for the All-Ireland hurling final and Garth Brooks concert they are great value and can be purchased from any member. So please come along and remember our great clubman Dave Walsh with his family and friends.

SOUTH LEAGUE

Our senior footballers wrapped up their involvement in the South League last Friday evening with a local derby v’s Galbally in what was a evenly fought contest with Galbally just edging it in the end by two points. Full time Ballylanders 1-11 Galbally 2-10.

CONGRATULATIONS

Well done to both our county football and hurling teams who qualified for the Munster finals over the weekend, we wish them the best of luck over the coming weeks.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LOCAL NATIONAL SCHOOL CHILDREN

Congratulations to the following local National School children who played in the Munster GAA Primary Games recently in Ennis, Limerick and Thurles, Muirne Ryan, Mary English and Haulie Gallahue from Anglesbouro National School. Jack Meade from Ballylanders National School and Ellen Moriarty from Galbally National School.

CHURCH NOTICES - PARISH MISSION

The Parish Mission begins on Monday, 13th June with 10am Mass. Also on Tuesday, 14th and Wednesday, 15th June. Two sessions each day, 10am and 8pm. A meeting to plan the mission will take place today this Thursday May 19th at 8.30pm, in the church. Items include road-side posters, hand-outs, car parking, toilets, music, singing, book stall, adoration all day each day, collections, readers, communion helpers etc.
