CORRIN MART REPORT
We had an extremely lively trade in corrin this week. The extraordinary demand that we have enjoyed over the last weeks continued its meteoric rise with an increase in prices right across the board.
All weight bands and breeds showed another improvement and hopefully this will continue.
COWS
Super trade for all dry cows.
Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.45 per kilo to €2.20 per kilo.
Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.85 per kilo up to €2.88 per kilo.
Limousin 675kg €1,940; Friesians 740kg €1,730; Friesians 810kg €1,870.
BULLOCKS
Another increase in prices and demand this week.
Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.90 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.28 for Continental bullocks. With AA/ Hereford types making from €2.40 per kilo up to €3.03 per kilo.
Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.90 for Friesians up to €3.08 per kilo for Continentals. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.50 up to €3.10 per kilo.
Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €2.15 per kilo up to €3.13 per kilo.
Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+: extraordinary demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.15 up to €3.21 per kilo.
AA 642kgs €2,060; Charolais 311kgs €1,020; AA 540kgs €1,690; Hereford 277kgs €840
HEIFERS
Very strong trade for heifers again this week.
Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.35 up to €3.50 per kilo. AA/ Hereford averaged at €2.48 per kilo.
Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.45 up to €3.27 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.65per kilo.
Limousin 584kgs €1,900; AA 503kgs €1,520; Hereford 630kgs €1,870; AA 530kgs €1,570.
