Tourin Community Hall update

-

With Covid lockdowns now (hopefully) becoming a distant memory, we are now looking to the future to see what potential delights await our community. We can focus on getting everyone back together after two years of staying apart.

With restrictions lifted we have re-activated and re-energised our hall committee with an eye firmly on the future of our rural communities. A number of meetings have been held and plans are well underway to re-develop Tourin Hall.

Our aim is to bring the existing facilities up to current standards. Accessibility, insulation, upgrading of electrics and fire specs will be priority projects, ultimately creating desirable spaces for community groups of all shapes and sizes to access.

As with all projects that involve design and refurbishment elements, this will take a bit of money to make it happen! A number of meetings have taken place to date and our committee has allocated it’s ‘ expert power’ into task groups to work on fundraising initiatives and grant applications. We are now at planning stage and an engineer has been engaged.

Discussions are underway as to what the best design will be to future proof our facility. Our wish list is long but the practicalities do have to stay to the fore! The design phase has to be undertaken prior to any grant application, so we will need to put our heads together to raise the necessary funds in order to progress this aspect of the project.

The grant application group are working away behind the scenes and our ‘inspired’ fundraising group are putting together the first of our fundraisers.

We will keep you posted as each element of the hall project is developed and we will be asking for your help in many ways. New members are always welcome on our hall committee, so if you feel you have anything to contribute to the future of the Tourin community please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee members. Meeting details are posted on our social media site #TourinCommunityHallCommittee and also posted to the local papers.
