INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL LEAGUE Millstreet 3-13 Glenville 0-05

Glenville’s fantastic start to the league came to a halt on Saturday when a depleted side travelled to Millstreet. Glenville were competitive throughout the first half until Millstreet scored two goals in quick succession with only a minute to go.

Glenville’s work rate throughout the match couldn’t be faulted. With the dedication shown during the match, we will no doubt get back to winning ways in our next match.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE Glenville 0-10 St Finbarrs 3-10

Despite the scoreline, Glenville were competitive throughout but unfortunately two goals just before half time gave St Finbarrs a lead they never relinquished.

Glenville battled gamely throughout and got stronger as the game went on. A particular highlight was a superb long range point from the veteran Brian Cosgrove who managed to turn back time with his non-stop running.

REGISTER TOAY FOR CROKE PARK CHALLENGE

The club are delighted to announce a 252km virtual Glenville to Croke Park Challenge, which is being proudly sponsored by Ross’s Centra, Watergrasshill, Co Cork.

For this challenge you can virtually walk, jog, run or cycle from Glenville to Croke Park. You will navigate 252km over 12 weeks (or less). The first adventurers started on 7th May and finishing on the day of the All-Ireland football final on 24th July.

Last year’s challenge successfully raised money for our astroturf. This year we are raising money towards the installation of floodlights on our pitch and the Rainbow Club Cork, Centre for Autism.

You can submit your distances daily and track your progress via the MyRunResults website and for those that are more competitive you can keep an eye on the leader board too. Feel free to post pictures along the way to social media and let us know how you are getting on. You download a participants certificate when you finish – best of luck.
