- BALLYDUFF FÉILE

What a day for our lads in Ballyduff on Saturday, 14th May. We went to the picturesque setting in Co. Waterford on a sun drenched day with a small squad. What we lacked in numbers we made up for in heart, skill and determination.

We had our first game against St Olivers of Waterford where we ran out winners on a scoreline of 7-4 to 0-1. Next up was Brickey Rangers, also of Waterford where we ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-2 to 0-1. In the third game up we played Ballygunner where we ran up quite a score - 10-3 to no score.

Semi-final time, St. Pats of Waterford lay in wait. This was a huge battle where the lads showed true grit and determination to grind out a result on a scoreline of 2-02 to 1-03.

Our fifth and grand final was against the host club Ballyduff Upper. With the heat and the tough semi-final the bodies were tiring but the hearts were still willing.

The lads dug deep, we got the first couple of scores and that settled the lads. Ballyduff never gave up and took some fine scores themselves.

But our lads never gave up and bodies were put on the line to keep Ballyduff out as they went in search for late scores. Thankfully, time ran out and we ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of 5-2 to 3-2.

Huge thanks to all the lads, and the parents for making the trip. Also, to Gretta for the ice-creams, Paulina and Anne-Marie for score recording and photos. Huge thanks to Ballyduff for hosting. Coaches on the day were Eamonn Ryan and Paddy O’Neill.
