Community Games start with a bang

The games are now in full swing. Express interest now to participat­e in cultural and sporting activities in Mitchelsto­wn area and Cork Community Games events. It’s for aged 6-16. Note: age after July 31 2022.

A Mitchelsto­wn Table Quiz representa­tive team under 14 consists of Sophie Hennessey, Michael Kenneally, Sarah Luddy, Niamh Murphy and Chess U13 at 1.30pm at Riverstick Hall, June 11.

Athletics Area Qualifiers held on Tuesday last in O’Connell Park with Cork finals at MTU Saturday, June 4 at 2pm. 2 to qualify in each event. Field events U14 shot putt, long jump, javelin U16 high jump, discus to be held on Friday next at Kilworth parish field. Helpers welcome.

Area swim participan­ts are readying themselves for Cork swimming finals U8-16 Sunday, June 19 at Mayfield Pool 2 pm. 3 per area / event. Closing date June 2nd.

UNDER 11 HURLING

Mitchelsto­wn play the winners of Ballincoll­ig v Watergrass­hill in the semi-final on Sunday, 26th June in Ballincoll­ig.

Ballinloug­h v Glanmire play in other semi-final. Final at 5pm. Long Puck at 6pm.

Entries also in grass cycling, soccer, skittles, camogie U14, rugby, tag rugby, best of luck to all.
