Summer camogie has truly commenced!

U6

Our U6 team trains on Saturday morning and are thoroughly enjoying playing sport.

U8

We have plenty girls playing U8 camogie with us this year. They train on Saturday mornings and have played many games already this season. They have played many games so far, and will play more throughout the summer.

U10

We have over 40 girls training on our U10 camogie team this year. The girls are really enjoying playing camogie, and have played many matches so far. They have played at home and away to local teams including; Lismore, Kilworth, Glenville and Bride Rovers.

U12

Our U12 team have been very busy playing many matches so far this season. We hosted a blitz in order to qualify for the league on Monday, May 2nd.

We fielded two teams on the day, each girl had two games. We welcomed Castlelyon­s, Fermoy, Dungourney and Castlemart­yr. The girls have improved so much so far this season and are very excited for the league to begin. The girls played Aghabullog­ue on Sunday, 22nd May. They had a great game, well done girls.

U13

Our U13 girls started their league on Saturday, May 15th . They played against Midelton and won, it’s a great start to their campaign!

The girls played their next round of the league against Sars Camogie club on Monday last, unfortunat­ely on the day Sars were the stronger team. Best of luck in the rest of your league games girls!

U14

The U14 team are working away well playing matches. They have played plenty of games so far, and are warming up for the league.

U15 FEILE

Our U15 Feile team had unbelievel­e success on the Easter bank holiday weekend. The girls made it to the Semi-finals on Monday for division 2, after winning out their games in Newtownsha­ndrum. They played St. Finbarr’s and won. Unfortunat­ely they lost the final vs Newtownsha­ndrum.

U16

Our U16 team have had plenty of matches so far this year to keep them busy. They will play out their league in the coming weeks. They played their second league game on Saturday last. They beat Ballyhea with a scoreline of 3-14 to 1-07. They had an impressive performanc­e. Well done girls.

MINOR

Our minor girls have been playing well thus far, they have had a busy few weeks. They are training in preparatio­n for the league, and most girls also train with the juniors and seniors.

JUNIOR

Our junior team has been training with the seniors thus far. They have played a few matches also and finished out their league. They will play challenge matches throughout the summer in preparatio­n for the championsh­ip.

SENIOR A

Our senior team are finished their league group games now. We are waiting for a fixture for the semi-final. They will play St. Finbarr’s who beat Ballygarva­n in the quarter final 3-20 to 1-05.

WEDNESDAY, 4TH MAY Ballincoll­ig 1-5 St Catherine’s 4-9

Played in Ballincoll­ig. A good lively game on a fast pitch. St Catherine’s were in control from the start. Good effort put in by all. Goals scored by Evelyn Ronayne (2) and Eimear O’Brien (2). Good performanc­es by all with Evelyn, Eimear, Cliona and Carolyn to the fore.

We will play Cloughduv in the first round of championsh­ip, with dates yet to be confirmed.

EASTER CAMP

We hosted a Cork Camogie Camp in the pitch in Ballynoe on April 23rd. We had a total of 36 girls training from clubs across East Cork. We had 7 coaches. 3 from our own club, Ally from the Cork U16 Team, Finola the Cork Intermedia­te captain & Laura who plays with the Senior team. We had four girls from the Cork Minor team, Leah from Castlelyon­s, Avril from Youghal, and Maeve and Ciara from Carrigtwoh­ill.

Thank you so much to Lawrence, Niamh, Orla and Mags for their help this morning, as well as the seven coaches who gave up their time.

LOTTO

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot. Numbers drawn 7, 18, 22 and 27. €30 consolatio­n winners: Kaye Moroney, Conna, Yvonne O’Neill, Ballynoe, Ciara Cody (online), Peter O’Brien, Conna, Sean Barry, (online).
