Back-to-back wins for Junior hurlers

Ballyhea 1-12 Kilworth 2-11

Our Junior hurlers recorded a good win over Ballyhea last Tuesday night week (May 17th). Played in Ballyhea we led from pilar to post against the side we will face again later in the summer in the JB hurling championsh­ip semi-final.

The half-time score had us 1-9 to 1-6 to the good, with the lads adding 1-2 against a strong win in the second half to leave it 2-11 to 1-12 at the final whistle.

Up next it’s the turn of our Intermedia­te hurlers to travel to play Ballyhea in Round 6 of the Red FM Division 2 HL.

ONE WEEK TO GOLF CLASSIC

There is just one week left to this year’s Kilworth GAA Club Blackwater Motors sponsored golf classic which will be held in Fermoy Golf Club on Thursday afternoon, June 2nd from 2pm and Friday, June 3rd from 8am.

We are delighted to have Blackwater Motors Fermoy back on board as the main sponsor for the event for the third year in a row and we once more thank them for their continued support.

As always, all monies taken in during this event are set aside specifical­ly for developmen­ts within the club grounds. The details of the event are as follows: 3 players per team, 3 ball scramble (each players drive to count a minimum of 3 times). Entry fee €150 per team. Includes entry to classic, refreshmen­ts and meal on completion of round.

We would also welcome support from local businesses in terms of sponsorshi­p of greens and/or tee boxes on the day of the classic at a rate of €100 each.

Any business which sponsors a tee box or green will have their company’s name printed at that tee box or green for the duration of the event, will have their company name publicised in the local media and will also be added to our list of sponsors which will be displayed in the clubhouse throughout the event.

All sponsors names will also be included on our club website and shared on social media.

The club are also running a very attractive raffle to coincide with the golf classic, with a top prize of one week’s accommodat­ion in Fuertevent­ura and €500 cash (flights not included) on offer. Watch out for tickets which are currently on sale locally.

LOTTO AT €19,200

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €19,000 held on Monday, May 23rd. The numbers drawn were: 7, 12, 22 and 25. The lucky dip winner of €50 was Sheila Hogan c/o Hair by Helen. The lucky dip winners of €25 each were: Pippa Kirnan c/o The Village Inn, Maura Condon c/o Mossie McNamara, Des Harrington c/o online.

Next week’s jackpot on Monday, May 30th is €19,200. Tickets cost just €2 each or 3 lines for €5 and they are available online, in the local business outlets or from your usual local sellers.
