U12 football division 2 county semi-final in Dungarvan

-

RESULTS Cois Bhríde 4-07 Dungarvan 5-03

We travelled to Dungarvan last Friday night to take on the home team in the county semi-final. We had the worst possible start to the game going 13 points down after 7 minutes. But after making a couple of positional changes we steadied the ship and by half-time we got ourselves back into the game, going in only 6 points down 4-02 to 01-05. We took control of the game in the second half and with five minutes to go we went one point up.

Then with three to go Dungarvan got a goal to go two up again and it felt that our comeback had come to an end. But the game took one final twist as in our last attack we broke fast and with some great inter play we ended the game with a goal to go one up again. Dungarvan had one final chance but we held out and turned it over to the sound of the final whistle. It was a great team performance with a never say die attitude.

Next up is the county final v Clan na Gael who beat us in the first round of the league section of the competition.

U11 football v Ballinacourty played in Tallow on 18th, well done to the team who had a great win on the night. U10 football v Clashmore – well done to our U10 team, great team spirit in a great game last Saturday at home.
