MEMBERSHIP

-

Membership for the 2022 season is open and can be paid directly via the Klubfunder app. The fees agreed are juvenile: €25, adult membership €50 and family membership €100. All of these fees include the Tennis Ireland affiliation fees which the club are required to pay to Tennis Ireland on members behalf. We would invite as many as possible to join our club either to take up tennis once again or try out tennis for the first time which as well as keeping fit is great fun for all the family.

JUVENILE

Following on from recent success of junior and teenage tennis lessons along with our earlier Easter Camp there will be a summer tennis camp scheduled for Monday 27th to Thursday, 30th June for primary school children from 1st class to 6th class for €60. Will be held daily from 10am to 2pm. In addition a day for junior and senior infants will be held in the courts on Friday, 1st July from 10-2pm. Text Shelly on 087-1476356 to book.

ADULT COACHING

Jean Hamilton is gathering a list of names for those interested in adult coaching with Coach Shelly. It will be a 6 week course starting on 22nd June at a cost of €36pp. Course will likely take place on Wednesday evenings and once numbers are confirmed we can assign time slots.

ADULT LEAGUES

Once again we will look to run both ladies and men’s doubles leagues for members over the summer. Kieran Hayes will be co-ordinating the men’s doubles and Avril Doocey the ladies doubles so please get in touch with either should you wish to be involved. Team captains will be responsible for organising games and we will look to run these off by August.

CLUB SURFACE DEVELOPMENT

Having recently received good news regarding our grant funding application we are delighted to confirm that the works associated with replacing the current tarmac surfaces with Tiger (astroturf) will be completed over the summer having recently engaged a contractor. In addition to the grant funding from the Department of Sport, the club will need to fundraise locally to raise the full amount required for this development so please keep an eye out for our ‘Sponsor a Square Metre’ fundraiser which we will launch shortly. We would ask local business and families to consider sponsoring the tennis club to assist with the latest development of the facilities which will be a huge asset for the far West Waterford community to have on our doorstep. Our little club has not previously fundraised so your support would be very much appreciated.
