CORRIN MART REPORT

We had very busy week in Corrin this week, which is to be expected at this time of year. There was a large entry of cattle on our Tuesday sale and trade was very strong.

We expect very large sales over the next few weeks and trade should be very lively indeed considerin­g the amount of enquiries that we have had looking for cattle over the last few days.

COWS

Extremely lively trade for dry cows. Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.50 per kilo to €2.26 per kilo. Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.85 per kilo up to €2.75 per kilo.

Friesians 725Kg €1,820; AA 665kg €1,660; Friesians 620kg €1,600.

BULLOCKS

A very strong trade again this week for all bullocks. Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.90 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.30 per kilo for Continenta­l bullocks. With AA/ Hereford types making from €2.40 per kilo up to €3.00 per kilo. Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €2.00 for Friesians up to €3.15 per kilo for Continenta­ls. AA/ Hereford bullocks made from €2.40 up to €2.95 per kilo.

Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €2.30 per kilo up to €2.95 per kilo. Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+: good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.45 up to €2.95 per kilo.

Hereford 652kgs €1,890; Limousin 390kgs €1,260; AA 346kgs €1,020; AA 592kgs €1,740; AA 508kgs €1,500.

HEIFERS

Good strong trade for heifers. Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.20 up to €2.90 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.30 per kilo. Butchers heifers: 400kgs+: These type heifers made from €2.35 up to €3.02 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.60 per kilo.

Hereford 605kgs €1,770; AA 585kgs €1,690; Limousin 490kgs €1,410; Hereford 368kgs €1,050.
