Disappointing loss

-

Last Sunday we were host to visiting team, Clyda Rovers in the Division 1 Hurling League. Conditions were damp however our first half display was a solid one.

Clyda got the scoring underway in the 2nd minute of the game following by a quick second point. Jamie got us on the scoreboard with a free and from there we settled and played very well across the field with scores coming from across the board. We led at half-time on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-4. However, half-time saw a quick change in the game with Clyda coming back out with fire in their bellies and very quickly our lead was eroded.

We failed to score in the first 20 mins of the second half while our opponents dug in finding the net on two occasions along with a tally of points.

Jamie put over another free to get us on the second half scoreboard but we failed to score from play in the second half. Final whistle score ended on 0-13 to 2-14 which was a disappointing loss with the first half performance we displayed showing us more than capable to get the better of our opponents.

Team and scorers: Stevie Donegan, Paudie Fitzgerald, Eoin McHugh, Jake Buckley, Eoin O’Regan, Barry Sheedy, Brian O’Reilly (0-1), Cory Buckley, Darragh Palmer (0-2), Jamie Sheedy (0-8, 6F, 1 65”), Jerome Fitzgerald, Haulie Burke (0-1), Billy O’Grady, Noah Butler, Richard Hallinan (0-1).
