‘Quiz Wizz’ success for Glenahulla at annual Coláiste quiz
On Thursday, 30th March, Coláiste Fionnchua Mitchelstown hosted local primary schools for their ‘Quiz Wizz’, which is an annual inter-primary school quiz. The quiz, which has been part of our school calendar for many years, was put on hold during Covid. However, this year it came back with a bang!
There was a great buzz about the school as an incredible 42 teams from local primary schools travelled to the school to compete against each other. There was a brilliant display from all schools involved as they answered questions on increasing difficulty based on general knowledge, science, Gaeilge, pop culture and music. It was extremely tight but at the end, there could only one winner. Well done to Hannah Murphy, Gary O’Donnell, Michael Murphy and Jane O’Donnell from Glenahulla NS.
A huge thank you to Samina, our sponsor for the night. Thank you also to our Parents’ Council for sponsoring Easter eggs as spot prizes.
This was a great evening of fun and healthy competition, made all the better by the great attitude of all our contestants. It gave all in attendance a real feel for the school and it was a great way to foster a love of knowledge and to create new friendships. Well done to all those who involved. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!
DAIRYGOLD VISIT
The 2nd year students from Coláiste Fionnchua have been very fortunate these past weeks to work with Dairygold via the Business in the Community initiative. Once again, we thank Celine McGrath (BITCI), Maureen Cunningham and Sean O’Donovan from Dairygold who visited us for a wrap-up session.
This time, our students got the opportunity to present to our guests, and gave feedback on what they had learned over the past weeks. Well done to Eoghan O’Donnell, Katelyn Roche and Kasie O’Brien for their terrific presentations.
