Divine Mercy devotions in Fermoy

-

On Sunday, April 16th the Feast of Mercy special devotions, were held in St Patrick’s Church, Fermoy at 3pm and were also be streamed live on fermoyparish. ie. Confessions were available in Fermoy church and surrounding churches during Holy Week.

Devotion to the Divine Mercy and the many wonderful promises and graces attached to it were revealed to St Faustina, a Polish nun, who died in 1938 and was canonised by Pope John Paul II on April 30, 2000, with His Holiness dedicating the Sunday after Easter to be the feast day of St Faustina when the whole world is urged to pray and celebrate.

THE FEAST OF MERCY

Our Lord said to St Faustina “Souls that will go to Confession in preparation (within 8 days before or after the Feast of Mercy) and receive Holy Communion worthily on this day, will obtain a complete remission of all sin and punishment”.

This is an amazing promise which raises Holy Communion on the feast to the rank of a “second Baptism” and the soul becomes as clean as a new born child, so that if one were to die immediately after receiving His grace on the Feast of Mercy, one would go straight to heaven with no purgatory to serve at all. (Canon Ignacy Rozycki, Doctor of Dogmatic Theology appointed by Pope John Paul II to examine Divine Mercy revelations)

THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY

Listen to the words of Jesus on the Chaplet of Divine Mercy “Say unceasingly this chaplet. Anyone who says this chaplet will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as a last hope. If the most hardened sinner recites this chaplet even once, he will receive grace from My infinite mercy, I want the whole world to know My infinite mercy”. So that we would remember how dear each soul is to Jesus and spread it especially to those who are seriously ill or dying.

He said “When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just judge, but as the merciful Saviour” (V.125). The foundation of all devotion to the Divine Mercy rests on trust and mercy.

“The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, that is trust”.

Listen to the encouraging words of Jesus where some members of the family may have fallen away from the faith. “I will save the whole family if one person in that family honours My mercy”.

To obtain this promise say once a day “I consecrate myself and my family to the mercy of God. The more a soul trusts the more it will receive”.

MERCY

“You are to be My living reflections through love and mercy. Be always merciful towards other people especially towards sinners (V.59). I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love for me. You are to show mercy to your neighbours always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it” (742).

THE IMAGE OF DIVINE MERCY

Regarding the image of Divine Mercy: “I promise that the soul that will venerate My image will not perish. I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth and especially at the hour of death” (1.18).

To priests who spread devotion to Divine Mercy: “Tell my priests that hardened sinners will crumble beneath their word when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My heart, to priests who will proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wonderful power and I will anoint their words and I will touch the hearts to which they will speak”.

To people who spread devotion to Divine Mercy: “Souls who spread the honour of My mercy I shield throughout their entire life and at the hour of death, I will not be a Judge for them but the Merciful Saviour” (111.2021).

“Do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My mercy”.
