Success at South of Ireland Masters Open

We had great representa­tion of our club at Limerick Lawn Tennis Club last weekend and success at the 38th South of Ireland Master Open Championsh­ips. Congratula­tions and well done to club member Mark Moloney winning the MS35 final. Fantastic tennis!

Well done to club member Helena O’Brien and her partner Eileen Caplice (Mallow), finalists in the WD70. Also well done to members Ciaran O’Kennedy and Catherine Rea, finalists in mixed doubles combined over 70.

QUALIFIERS FOR ELIMINATIO­N STAGES OF WINTER LEAGUE PHASE II

Exciting news as three of our Winter League phase II two teams have now qualified out of the group stages of the competitio­n to the eliminatio­n stages.

FIXTURES

Grade 6 ladies will play at home v Nenagh this Sunday the 23rd at 2pm. Grade 2 men will play away v Crosshaven on Sunday, 7th May. Grade 5 men will play at home v Lakewood on Sunday, 7th May at 12pm. Well done and best of luck to all teams. All support appreciate­d.

SOCIAL TENNIS

Our next Social Tennis evening is Friday, May 12th at 6.30pm. Come along and join us for tennis and a cuppa. Members and non-members welcome.

ADULT COACHING

Our adult coaching continues with almost 40 members and beginners participat­ing over two nights. There are still spaces available for adult coaching sessions, beginners and new members welcome.

JUNIOR NEWS

Our junior coaching sessions returned this week after the Easter break in fantastic weather. They continue every Tuesday and Wednesday lead by club coach Stephen McInerney.

Our junior matchplay tennis continues every Sunday morning. Red ball 5-8years 9.30am to 10.30am. Orange/green ball 9-12years 10.30am-11.30am. New members welcome to come along and try it out.

Well done to the Bunscoil Na Toirbhirte girls team who played their first match in the Munster Schools Championsh­ips on Tuesday against Kiladangan NS from Tipperary. Great tennis played by all. We wish them well in their next match. It is great to see schools tennis being played on our courts and using our wonderful facilities.
