Munster Women’s Senior Amateur Open champion

-

Huge congratulations to Paula Walsh on her magnificent victory at Monkstown Golf Club in the Women’s Senior Amateur Open Championship last week.

After a thrilling finish Paula won one stroke clear of her rivals on -1 and in doing so claimed the title for a second time. Paula previously won this coveted title in 2017. Paula was level par for her front nine and despite a birdie on the 11th she dropped back to level again before the crucial birdie on the last.

Everyone in Doneraile Golf Club was thrilled for Paula when the news broke. Paula has worked tirelessly at her golf playing off a handicap of 2.8. Great to see all her hard work paying off. She is a fantastic role model for our next generation of golfers in Doneraile who goes about her business quietly with pride and dedication to Doneraile Golf Club.

DONERAILE GOLF CLUB OPEN WEEK 2023

We are delighted to announce that we will be running our annual open week from Friday, 12th May to Sunday, 21st May inclusive. There will be various competition formats and further details will be issued soon.

SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY MEMBERSHIP OFFER

Doneraile Golf Club is open for membership. All of us who play know that golf offers so much more. Not only is it a hobby for life, it offers a social outlet as well as a healthy lifestyle option. Membership of a golf club is a great way to be part of the local community and network with other people from the area. A chance to meet like-minded people, forming life-long friendships. We offer a wide variety of competitions, both at weekends and midweek. Being a member gives you the opportunity to play when you like and generally as often as you like. Our clubhouse is a great place for eating, drinking and socialising with your friends.

New members can avail of a special introductory offer. For further information please contact Michael Forde treasurer forde.mike50@ gmail.com 087-2205803 or Frank Carey, 086-4055255 admin@donerailegolfclub.com.

COURSE UPDATE

The bunkers and run off areas around the greens are now open. Please rake bunkers after use and avoid taking caddy cars into new run off areas. At present there are a number of areas on the course that have been reseeded and the grass may not have grown yet. Free drop off all brown areas. Please keep off the new tee boxes as they are not ready for play as yet. Your co-operation is appreciated.

CARE OF THE GREENS

All members and visitors have a role to play in ensuring our course remains in pristine condition. To keep our greens in excellent condition please repair all pitch marks. Every chip, pitch, and full shot has the potential to leave a mark on the surface of a green, especially in soft or wet conditions. You should repair any pitch marks that you see, even those that belong to the groups in front if they failed to repair them.

Our course is in great condition thanks to the professionalism and hard work of our course staff, Seamus, John and Pius.

DONERAILE GOLF CLUB GIFT VOUCHERS

Vouchers from the Golf Club would make a great gift. They can be purchased for any amount and can be redeemed in the bar/restaurant, green fees or towards membership. If you would like to purchase please contact Michael Forde 0872205803 or Frank Carey 086-4055255 or admin@donerailegolfclub.com.
