Revolutionary equine biosecurity deployed at Ballindenisk International
The Ballindenisk International based in Watergrasshill, County Cork has partnered with Kildare-based Equine MediRecord to deploy their revolutionary software platform for all the horses taking part in this year’s events. This will include a new version of the Equine MediRecord platform to help all the horses and athletes competing at the event to comply with heighted bio-security rules, where horses' information will be checked in advance of the horses arriving at the event instead of once they have already arrived.
The platform supported the highly prestigious Ballindenisk Spring International, the first Irish International competition of 2023 which ran from Thursday 27th to Sunday, 30th April.
Having vaccine and other records submitted in advance of the horses entering the event grounds helps to ensure the biosecurity of the event. There have been a number of outbreaks of equine diseases at European equine events over the past number of years which could be reduced by having the records inspected in advance.
The MediRecord platform allows for the full veterinary history of the horse to be recorded securely, ensuring the best possible horse welfare as well as aiding with crucial biosecurity procedures. This platform will provide all entrants, trainers and vets, a system to comply with the latest biosecurity measures, allowing all this information to be collected digitally. Integrity of this information is ensured using the Equine MediRecord system and its algorithms which guarantee the compliance for all horses who participate, ensuring the best equine biosecurity.
Equine MediRecord’s platform has seen extensive international traction after its launch only a number of years ago having already amassed an impressive list of clients and users.
Pierce Dargan, Chief Executive Officer of Equine MediRecord said, “We are thrilled about our partnership with the Ballindenisk International. We are excited to deploy this new version of our Equine MediRecord system with Ballindenisk International’s support. We have seen athletes being wary of entering events due to biosecurity concerns. We hope that Ballindenisk leadership in this area will drive adoption of our system by more equine events in Ireland and Europe who want to ensure the best equine biosecurity protocols are being followed at their events.”
Ballindenisk International 2 is scheduled to take place at the Watergrasshill venue on September 20th, while before that, the venue will host events on June 18th and July 16th.
