School news round-up
Congratulations to all involved in our Green Schools Committee. BCS has received our second Green Schools Flag under the Water theme.
Hard work and dedication from the committee along with the support from all the BCS community has paid off. This is a fantastic achievement for our school.
SCHOOL TRIPS
Our 3rd and 2nd Year students embark on their school trips this week for a well-deserved break from their studies.
BIOLOGY FIELD TRIP TO FOTA
A highly educational and enjoyable day was had by 5th Year Biology students on their trip to Fota Wildlife Park. Students performed a range of Leaving Certificate ecological experiments in the woodland along with an informative ecological presentation.
SCIFEST
Congratulations to our students Cathal Barry, Cormac Martin, Conor O’Brien, Roan Carey and Derval Gibney Sheridan who participated at Scifest last week and collected 4 awards. Thanks to all our Science Department for their support and encouragement.
SPORTS DAY
Our PE Department are planning hard for our Sports Day and Colour Run over the next few weeks. This is always a highlight of the school calander for the entire school body.
GAA EVENTS THIS WEEK
Wishing Niamh Ryan and Eimear Griffin the best of luck playing in the Waterford Minor Camogie team against Cork next weekend. Best wishes to our Junior girls competing in the Camogie final in Mallow on Friday.
Best wishes to our boys competing in the Rice Cup B Blitz in Tipperary Town on Thursday.
EPAS AWARDS
A group of our TYs travel to Cashel on Friday for the annual EPAS awards ceremony. TY students study this programme in History class where they learn all about the European Union.
EUROPE DAY
Our TY students will be marking Europe Day on the 9th of May by holding a series of events aided by the History Department.
BASKETBALL
Our Senior Boys get to test their recent intensive training against Dungarvan in a challenge match on Thursday.
TRACK & FIELD
Best wishes to our girls competing in the East Munster Track & Field event in Templemore on Wednesday.
