MINOR LEAGUE

On Tuesday, 25th April, our minors kicked off their league campaign when they travelled to Lismore. Despite missing a few regulars, our girls got stuck in from the word go and really put it up to Lismore in the first half.

Unfortunately, Lismore took control in the second half picking off some great scores and ran out winners on a final score of Lismore 4-14 Ballyduff Upper 4-03. Well done girls on a mighty effort, keep the heads up as it is still early in the season so loads more games to come ahead of the championship at the end of the summer.

Minor team v Lismore - Millie Feeney, Maebh Landy, Nora Ahern, Grace Kenny, Katie Kenneally, Ailish O’Donovan, Dayna Hannon, Molly Kenneally, Maeve Hickey. Sarah Barry, Sibhe Collins, Ella O’Brien, Sinead Branagh, Kate Ahern, Mia Geary. Subs (all played) Laura Kenny, Emer Collins, Lauren Drislane. (Absent - Niamh Ryan).

JUNIOR LEAGUE

On Saturday, 29th April, our young Junior team welcomed Ferrybank to Ballyduff for Round 2 of the Junior League. Despite playing in only their 2nd ever adult match and missing a few regulars, our girls showed great work rate and teamwork pushing Ferrybank from the very start. After a tough first half in bad weather conditions, our girls really stepped up in the second half and took the game to Ferrybank.

The game was end to end and could have gone either way. Unfortunately, our girls just couldn’t convert some of the chances with the visitors running out winners on a scoreline of Ballyduff 3-05 Ferrybank 4-06.

Well done girls on a gallant effort against a very experienced adult Ferrybank side and playing most of the match with 14 players due to a harsh red card in the first 10 minutes. Keep the heads up and drive on to the next one. After the game both teams enjoyed a well deserved cup of tea and treats. Well done all.
