Busy week for club members
GOLF IRELAND INTER CLUB
A busy weekend of inter club matches. Our mixed foursomes team won but unfortunately two of our teams exit this year’s Golf Ireland competitions. We would like to thank most sincerely our members who make themselves available to represent our club.
We would also like to thank members who put their names forward to manage teams. We acknowledge the time, preparation and effort that goes into these competitions. Thanks to our loyal supporters for their continuous support and encouragement.
MIXED FOURSOMES
Congratulations to our mixed foursomes team who overcame a very strong Ceann Sibeal side at home last Saturday. It was a hard fought match played in great spirit by both teams with a determined Doneraile side winning on the day. Thanks to Ceann Sibeal for a sporting match.
Well done to all the panel and team managers Sean Collins and Tom Meade for all your efforts. Our next opponents are Killarney Golf Club, with home venue for Doneraile.

Our Pierce Purcell team played Newcastle West at home on Sunday. They gave a courageous effort but unfortunately were defeated by the narrowest of margins. Great credit to all the panel and team manager Eddie Roche for all your efforts. Congratulations to Newcastle West and we wish them the very best of luck in the next round.
LADIES INTERMEDIATE CUP
Under the management of Helen Stafford and Kay O’Keeffe our Ladies intermediate team made the long journey to Ceann Sibeal on Saturday. The end result didn’t go our way as we were beaten by a very strong team. Best of luck to Ceann Sibeal in the next round. Thanks to team managers Helen and Kay and to all the panel for representing your cClub.

All of us who play know that golf offers so much more. Not only is it a hobby for life, it offers a social outlet as well as a healthy lifestyle option. Membership of a golf club is a great way to be part of the local community and to network with other people from the area. A chance to meet like-minded people, forming life-long friendships.
We offer a wide variety of competitions, both at weekends and midweek. Being a member gives you the opportunity to play when you like and generally as often as you like. Our clubhouse is a great place for eating, drinking and socialising with your friends.
New members can avail of a special introductory offer. For further information please contact Michael Forde, treasurer at forde. mike50@gmail.com, 087-2205803 or

COURSE UPDATE
The bunkers and run off areas around the greens are now open. Please rake bunkers after use and avoid taking caddy cars into new run off areas.
At present there are a number of areas on the course that have been reseeded and the grass may not have grown yet. Free drop off all brown areas. Please keep off the new tee boxes as they are not ready for play as yet. Your co-operation is appreciated.
CARE OF THE GREENS
All members and visitors have a role to play in ensuring our course remains in pristine condition. To keep our greens in excellent condition please repair all pitch marks. Every chip, pitch and full shot has
the potential to leave a mark on the surface of a green, especially in soft or wet conditions. You should repair any pitch marks that you see, even those that belong to the groups in front if they failed to repair them.
Our course is in great condition thanks to the professionalism and hardwork of our course staff, Seamus, John and Pius.
DONERAILE GOLF CLUB GIFT VOUCHERS
Vouchers from the golf club would make a great gift. They can be purchased for any amount and can be redeemed in the bar / restaurant, green fees or towards membership. If you would like to purchase, please contact Michael Forde 087-2205803 or Frank Carey 086-4055255.
