Two wins out of two in league for Minors
MINOR LADIES
Our Minor ladies travelled to Killeagh last Wednesday night for their second league game, where they enjoyed a challenging game. We were behind by 2 points at half-time but turned it around when the game resumed and came away with the win. Final score St Catherines 2-12 Killeagh 3-3.

JUNIOR BS
The Junior B ladies were out in wet conditions on Saturday evening for a home game against Aghabullogue. The girls fought hard against a strong side. We suffered a couple of injuries in the first half, a combination of reduced numbers and bad weather didn’t help us. The girls kept a positive attitude and showed great solidarity and we couldn’t have asked for any more.

LAURA HAYES
Once again as a club we are very proud of Senior club and county player, Laura Hayes. Laura was honoured at the 2023 UCC Sport Awards last week. Another fantastic achievement to add to her list.
Well done to Simone who played with the Cork Primary Games on Sunday last during the interval in the Senior hurling game up in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. I’m sure Simone relished the opportunity. This young lady is a star in the making.
SENIORS
The Senior ladies played their second league match on Friday night in Newcestown and had a ferocious battle. We gave a fantastic team performance against a very strong side. Final score St Catherines 3-7 Newcestown 1-8 - well done ladies!
U14
Well done to our U14 2nd team who got their league campaign off to a great start last Friday night at home v Douglas. The girls were quick off the mark from the starting whistle and kept the momentum going until the final whistle. They displayed great skill and lovely passes, working harmoniously together. A great team effort by all.
The U14 1st team had their league debut at home v Midleton on Saturday. Unfortunately, we never really got going and Midleton proved infallible.
U12
Well done to our young U12 team who enjoyed a challenging game versus Erin's Own at home in Ballynoe last Saturday. These girls never gave up and fought tooth and nail for every ball. Great team spirit! There was great skill on show and I think the game was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thanks to Erin's Own for an enjoyable game and thanks to Katelyn Hickey for doing a great job reffing.
U15 LADIES FOOTBALL
We want to congratulate the U15 ladies football team on their performance in Brinny last weekend. The girls topped their group after winning all three matches against Dromtarriffe, Carrigaline and Valley Rovers, securing themselves a place in the semi-final.
Another strong performance v Ballycastle saw them take their spot in the final versus Ballgarvan. They had a tough battle on their plate. Ballygarvan proved to be the better team and took the title.
The girls conducted themselves superbly throughout and the chairperson of the County Board said after: "we are going to see a lot more of these St Catherines girls in the future" - and I think she’s right! A huge achievement for these young girls who are all new to the game of football.
