Kilworth ladies celebrate 7’s victory at Glanfest

-

On Saturday 29th, we made the short trip to Glanworth for the annual 7s competition, which is run as part of the Glanfest weekend.

We travelled with a strong squad, but as reigning champions the pressure was on. First up we faced a competitive Croom side who put up a stern test. But some well taken goals by our forwards and good goalkeeping saw us win 4-08 to 2-06.

After a quick turnaround we faced Glanworth. Another competitive game, but solid defending saw us win 0-11 to 1-04. Up next was another tough game against Croom. After being level at the half, we came out strong in the second half with some early goals which saw us comfortably win.

After these three tough games we were through to a final with the home side, Glanworth. A very entertaining game which was evenly contested by both teams saw us win 4-05 to 2-10. A great night of celebrations followed, with our own Sinead O’Brien being awarded Ladies Player of the tournament.

Panel: Aislinn Mc, Anna D, Carly C, Catriona O’S, Emma H, Emma C, Eva D, Laura S, Nadine W, Sarah K, Sinead O’B, Tara H. A massive thanks to the Glanfest organisers for another great tournament and fun filled weekend.

Kilworth LGFA say thank you for your very generous sponsorship

Finance is critical to any voluntary organisation and it’s a challenge to secure the necessary cash to keep a club going. Kilworth LGFA is fortunate to have a number of loyal and trusted sponsors and added to this list is D’barbers in Fermoy. We would like to thank Caroline Roche and all at D’barbers for your very generous sponsorship which went towards purchasing new hoodies for the team and management from BOF sportswear. Thanks again to all involved!
